GreenPan Cookware

GreenPan Cookware, founded in 2007, produces high-quality nonstick pots and pans coated with Thermolon. Thermolon is a first-of-a-kind non-toxic ceramic coating made from sand. There is no use of PTFE, PFAS, lead, or cadmium. In contrast to nonstick PTFE pans, this kitchenware can withstand temperatures up to 850°F. GreenPan Cookware doesn’t emit dangerous toxins, even when overheated, resulting in safer and healthier food.

Review

Next, we’ll review GreenPan Cookware for durability, even heating, ease of use, versatility, cleanup, and value.

Durability

GreenPan Cookware's Durability

GreenPan Cookware has anodized aluminum or stainless steel bodies coated in Thermolon nonstick ceramic. The Valencia Cookware has the sturdiest body with a thick base and scratch-resistant construction. Magneto™ technology provides maximum strength through copper-reinforced ferromagnetic particles that prevent bending and warping.

Evershine technology on the exterior that helps prevent discolorations. The Levels Stackable Cookware has the most durable surface. Multiple diamond-infused layers create a superior scratch-resistant coating.

The Venice, Paris, and Valencia Pro Cookware have an improved Thermolon Minerals coating that’s safe to use with metal utensils, although we don’t advise it.. However, we do recommend nylon, plastic, and wooden utensils to increase the longevity of your cookware. All pots and pans are dishwasher-safe, but hand washing is ideal.

Even Heating

GreenPan Cookware heats up faster than most other pots and pans. You can cook at lower temperatures than you’re used to and don’t have to wait very long for the pans to preheat. If you do accidentally overheat your pan, there’s no need to worry. GreenPan Cookware is 100% free from toxins and dangerous fumes.

The pans heat up faster thanks to the heat-conductive Thermolon coating. Traditional PFTE, or Teflon, surfaces have insulative properties, which means they don’t transfer heat very well. Thermolon conducts heat for quick and even cooking results.

The Venice, Paris, and Valencia Pro Cookware is all oven-safe up to 600°F. However, the Levels Cookware is only oven-safe up to 400°F. All of the collections come with handles that stay cool to the touch.

Ease of Use

These pans have large, easy-to-grip handles that stay cool during stovetop cooking. GreenPan recommends using a little oil before each use to avoid overheating and promote pan longevity. However, you should refrain from using spray oils since these can weaken the nonstick properties with time.

The kitchenware is delightful to cook with because it heats up fast and cooks food beautifully. Slightly oiled foods will glide right off of the plate. The pans are also easy to maneuver since they’re lightweight. Meanwhile, straining and nesting lids of the Venice and Levels Cookware make draining effortless.

GreenPan Cookware's Easy Using

You can easily monitor food progress through the tempered glass lids that fit snuggly onto the pots and pans. Riveted, stainless steel side handles allow you to insert meals into the oven quickly.

Versatility

All GreenPan Cookware is safe to use on electric, gas, and ceramic stovetops. The Venice, Valencia, and Levels Stainless Steel Cookware are safe to use on induction ranges. The pots and pans are also all oven-safe, making them extremely versatile.

Thermolon Mineral Pro and Thermolon Marathon are new enhanced nonstick ceramic coatings with optimal food release and scratch-resistant properties. However, we still advise nonabrasive utensils and handwashing to preserve the surfaces.

GreenPan Cookware includes frypans, grill pans, saucepans, sauté pans, casserole dishes, and sets. The Levels Stackable Sets provide a range of different pots and pans in convenient sizes. Chefs with limited space in the kitchen won’t have to make sacrifices when it comes to their choice of cookware. You can fit all eleven pieces into a standard kitchen shelf.

The Venice and Levels Cookware have practical spouted rims for easy no-drip pouring. You can use all GreenPan cookware for many different cooking tasks, including frying, braising, baking, broiling, searing, roasting, and sautéing.

Cleanup

GreenPan Cookware's Clean Up

GreenPan Cookware is particularly easy to clean. However, you have to follow the care instructions to minimize wear and tear. Always wait for the pan to cool down before cleaning. Thermal shock may cause bending or warping. Although this kitchenware is dishwasher-approved, handwashing is gentler on the nonstick surface. Warm water, soap, and a nonabrasive sponge are ideal for cleanup.

The stackable collections come with protective sheets to place between the pots and pans during storage. If you plan to stack your Venice, Paris, or Valencia Cookware, we recommend purchasing additional protective sheets.

At some point, you may notice brown stains or carbonized oils that burned into the surface. This is caused by overheated fats that accumulate after each use. A sponge and a few drops of clear vegetable oil can help clear away this discoloration.

Value

GreenPan Cookware comes with a higher-than-average price tag, but what you get is some of the highest-quality ceramic nonstick cookware available on the market. The advanced Thermolon Minerals Pro coating or the Venice Cookware lasts longer than ever, even with continuous use. The Thermolon Marathon coating of the Paris Cookware offers nearly identical strength for a more affordable price.

However, we believe the Valencia Cookware, with a Thermolon Minerals coating and Magneto  superior induction, provides even higher value. If you’re interested in stackable kitchenware, we recommend the more affordable Levels Hard Anodized Cookware. However, if you require induction-safe pots and pans, you should invest in the Levels Stainless Steel Cookware.

Is GreenPan Cookware Right for Me?

If you’re looking for a safe, high-quality alternative to PTFE pans, GreenPan Cookware provides some of the best ceramic nonstick products available. Thermolon is made from inorganic materials, that are safe to use when preparing food.

The Thermolon coating has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration and has international third-party certifications. We highly recommend GreenPan Cookware as a safe and healthy way to cook your meals.
